Zion Union Heritage Museum to Host “Staying Grounded,” a Photojournalism Exhibit by Artist, Designer, and Producer Mark Person

Hyannis, MA — Zion Union Heritage Museum will mount an exhibit of photography by local artist and producer Mark Person for the entire month of November. The public is invited to an artist reception on Friday, November 2, from 7-9pm. All are welcome. Mark Person is a multi-faceted artist whose work in fine art, fashion, photo journalism, and publishing have fostered the creation of his upcoming book “Finding Peace through Photography.” In addition, Mark’s work photographing recording artists for CD covers has led him to found Middleman Productions and launch his new role as music promoter and manager for top recording artists. The “Staying Grounded” exhibit will be his first solo show.

“Beauty and metaphor are everywhere,” Mark says. “I am most drawn to ‘scapes’ – land, sea and city – although fashion, celebrity, and music fascinate me, as well—anything that is spontaneous and un-staged. My photos have been described as simplistic, pure and emotive of spirit. I feel honored that my work has been compared to Ansel Adams. Whether shooting landscapes, movie dockets, fine art portraits, CD covers, or impromptu people images, I am a naturalist. With image titles like Georgia Gold, Reflections, There You Are, My Path, Zen, Timing, and “Underneath, inspiration finds me in the oddest places: whether lost in the middle of a cotton field near my childhood homes of Georgia and Alabama, or shooting a CD cover for an up-and-coming jazz and R&B composer/producer/bassist in Harlem, New York.”
